Since 1860, CHS has been committed to preparing intellectually skilled, thoughtful, and confident learners and leaders. This commitment embodies the very best of who we are as a community and can be traced back to the school’s earliest days. In order to maintain a high level of excellence, we rely on tuition and auxiliary programs to provide CHS with the necessary funds to support the priorities of the school.
Though tuition and auxiliary programs cover a majority of our operating expenses it doesn’t cover all the benefits of a CHS education. This is why independent schools like CHS need endowments and alternate revenue sources such as summer camp programming and fundraising.
Our goal is to reduce tuition dependency by growing both the Annual Fund and the endowment to enable a steady stream of working capital. When you support both the Annual Fund and endowment, it ensures the best possible education beyond what tuition provides. But more importantly, our community supports CHS out of gratitude and appreciation for the education our students receive. When our community gives, we create a legacy that lives on.
Every Gift Counts
CHS is grateful to enjoy a culture of giving that helps our school grow and flourish year after year. Your support at all levels of giving shows your commitment and belief in the school and the mission. Each year, our goal is to reach 100% participation by parents, staff, and the Board of Trustees – and increase participation by alumni, alumni parents, and grandparents. We hope you will join us. We appreciate each and every gift at a level that is meaningful to you.
