Counselor in Training Program – Entering grades 9 and 10

CITs are important members of our team. Once approved, CITs will be placed in one of our three divisions/age groups, and will receive pre-camp and ongoing training during their time with us. CITs will be expected to engage with campers and staff, and to apply learned teaching, behavioral management, and communication skills.

Weekly meetings with experienced staff and the Camp CIT Director provide CITs with individual support and feedback as well as team-building opportunities with their peers. The CIT program also provides the added options for all participants to partake in a group field trip and/or a community service project.  Returning CITs may select a specific department of focus (i.e., sports, drama, music, swim, art) and, with support, practice leading a special event and/or desired activity.  Through our program, CITs will receive resume building experience and may also qualify for community service hours for their school.

Graduating CITs from our program are given advance notice and consideration for any available paid junior counselor positions.

An application, reference checks, and an interview are required for all new and returning CIT positions (see steps below). Space is limited; we encourage interested candidates to apply early.

Application/Registration Process:

STEP 1 - First-year CIT applicants must first complete our online application form. Returning CITs may proceed with registration. Based on program needs and availability, applicants will be contacted with more information and/or an invitation for a Zoom interview.

STEP 2 - Families will be notified of their application status, and if accepted, will be able to proceed with registration. A deposit is required when registering.

STEP 3 - Accepted families will need to submit tuition balance and all required forms by Monday, April 3rd.
