Piano, Voice - Teaching with CHSM since 2013
Preferred Student Ages/Levels:
- Beginners to advanced (ages 4 and up)
Kathleen has high expectations, but her teaching style is positive, nurturing, and encouraging. She focuses on proper technique and a steadfast practice ethic. Kathleen requests parental support--parents should encourage practice at home so the student will always feel prepared for lessons. This aspect maintains a positive learning environment during lessons.
Beginners aged 4-13 will use the Bastien Piano Methods books in an appropriate level. Also included are the Joy of First Year piano by Agay, and the First Book of Classical Music by Bergerac. For more experienced players, repertoire will be discussed after the first couple of lessons.
