Suggestions from Websites

Welcome to Planet Esmé
Esmé, a librarian, recommends picture books, fiction chapter books, and nonfiction. You'll see a photo of the book's cover and read a description of the story, complete with age suggestion.

Bookhive
On this site, you can look by age or grade level, genre, or check several lists of recommendations. There is a picture of each book, a brief summary, and a comment or two from other readers which include their age. Bookhive was created by the librarians of the Charlotte Mecklenburg County Library in North Carolina.

ALA Current Notable Children's Books
The books listed here are presented in three sections entitled Younger Readers, Middle Readers and Older Readers. There is a brief summary of the story for each title. These books are chosen by the librarians of the Association of Library Service to Children, which is part of the American Library Association.

Your local Public Library

Don’t forget your local Public Library. They will have a much bigger selection of books than our school library. Did you know that you can look at your public library’s catalog
from your computer at home?

Minuteman Library Network - if you live in any of 35 towns around Boston

Metro Boston Library Network - if you live in one of the 27 neighborhoods of Boston or in Malden or Chelsea
