Gift Books
What the program is:
The Gift Book Program allows families to commemorate an occasion, such as a birthday, or to honor a family member, friend, or teacher by adding a book to our school library. A bookplate and a photo of the special person are placed inside the book and a special sticker on its spine identifies it as a gift. This is a wonderful opportunity share the warm feeling of giving with your child, to delight scores of readers, and to support the CHS Library.
What to do if you wish to participate:
A selection of brand new books is kept in the library, ready to be purchased and added to our collection. You are welcome to come choose one of these books before or after school, or your child may come during the school day. (A note or an email to Mrs.Liias will ensure that this actually happens.)
Donating the approximate cost of a children's book ($18) entitles you to select any book from the cart as your special gift to the Library. In the spirit of community, those of us who can make higher donations make it possible for families experiencing difficulties to share the same joys with their children. Checks should be made payable to CHS.
Books not purchased from the Gift Book cart cannot be accepted
without prior consultation with the librarian.
