The Family Association seeks to foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all families by facilitating volunteerism, community outreach, communication, and fundraising.
The Chestnut Hill School welcomes family participation. The Family Association organizes numerous community and fundraising events throughout the school year, including the Carnival, Rummage Sale, Book Fair, Gift Wrap Sale, Winter Bazaar, Spring Fling, and others. It hosts speakers several times a year, sometimes in conjunction with the Multicultural Forum (MCF) or with other schools, organizes community service activities for families, helps to beautify the school grounds, and maintains a cooperative relationship with other independent schools through participation in the Parents’ Independent School Network, Inc. (PIN). The Family Association also coordinates and supports the Class Representatives, and provides hospitality at many school functions such as Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day and the CHS Open House, and at interschool athletic games.
All families with children enrolled in the school are members of the Family Association. Family Association meetings are held three to four times a year. The nominating committee and the Head of School propose a slate of officers, who comprise the Executive Board and generally serve a two-year term.
The Family Association encourages families to volunteer for, participate in, and attend its many activities, events, and projects.
