Secondary School Sharing Night
The third annual Secondary School Sharing Night will take place Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Current sixth grade students (Class of 2008), their families and alumni from the Class of 2002 are invited to come together to share their experiences about their Secondary School and give some advice as our Sixth Graders embark on their journey to their new schools next year. Next fall is a time of transition for both classes as the Sixth Graders start at a new Secondary School and the Class of 2008 start at a new college.
This is an extra special event because the Class of 2002 and the Class of 2008 were reading partners! Your Reading Partners, Mr. Donnovan, Ms. Greenwood, Ms Aeschliman and I, Miss Garre, are looking forward to seeing the class of 2002 and hearing about their Secondary School experiences.

This summer we were fortunate to have had so many CHS alums working at the Chestnut Hill School Creative Arts and Sports Program. One sunny summer afternoon we all came together to catch up and remember our CHS days. Dylan Gallegos 83, Fifth Grade teacher and Director of Upper Camp recently had a son named Samuel. This will be Dylans 17th summer at the camp. Beth Greenwood 91 is currently teaching Third Grade at the Lincoln School in Brookline. This will be her 15th season at the summer camp. Jill Greenwood 95 is also enjoying her summer at camp, working with the drama and arts programs. Liz Hanson 00 just completed her first year at Temple University; this is her 4th summer and her first summer as a lifeguard. Carly Gold 01 just graduated from Newton South and will be attending a small school in Vermont called Landmark and reports that her brother David 05 is doing well and enjoying his summer at overnight camp Wigwam. Alyssa Gosman 01 just graduated Newton South and will also be going to Landmark in Vermont. This will be her 8th season at the camp as a camper and counselor. Sam Strassman 02 is entering his senior year at Boston Latin School and says that he has enjoyed the superior tennis program. He will be the captain of the football team and of the tennis team next year at BLS. Peter Rice 02 is also a senior at Boston Latin School, avid soccer player. This was Peters first summer as a counselor after almost a decade at the camp. Julia Bateman 02 will be a senior at the Rivers school and is very excited about the upcoming year at school. Working here, Julia earned her lifeguard certification; this is her second season here and loves it. Prophet Parker-McWhorter 03 is a junior at Vermont Academy. He is helping out with the sports program and loves hanging out and playing with all the kids. Maddie Nierenberg 04 will be a sophomore at BB &N. This is her second year as a CIT and was a camper for years. One of her summer highlights was traveling to Italy. She reports that her brother James 02 is currently at Newton North and is working at CVS this summer. Curt Myers 05 will be a freshman at Belmont Hill and he has been playing a lot of baseball this summer and enjoying his first year as a counselor. Amy Merino 05 will be a freshman at Mt. Alvernia and this was her first year as a CIT and is working with the lower camp and says I love working with the kids, everyday they have something new to tell me. Mary Coughlin 05 will be a freshman at BB &N and has enjoyed her 1st summer as a CIT and her 10th season at the summer camp. One summer highlight has been swimming with kids of all ages and seeing their skills improving over the summer. She has also enjoyed working with Julia and other CHS alums. All the alums enjoyed eating pizza and catching up with the CHS community.
